There’s certain songs that you just know are perfect for a wedding reception, and that’s why you’ll hear them on almost every reception dance floor throughout the islands! 1. Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran
Straight in with whats become the wedding song of the century so far. We don’t know how Ed does it, but he’s a pro at writing love songs that every couple deeply in love can relate to.

2. Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You – Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons
With an instantly recognisable intro “You’re just too good to be true, can’t take my eyes off of you…”, this song then bursts into a singalong like no other that all the guests are sure to get involved with!

3. Baila Morena – Zucchero
We’re not sure why this song is on every wedding playlist but we can see why. Released in 2001 by Italy’s Zucchero, the half Italian language song goes down really well on the dance floor! Baby, the night is on fire…

4. Volare – Domenico Modugno
Another Italian classic with a Rat Pack sound from the likes of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. We love our Italian music in Malta and this old favourite song about the feeling of flying when you’re in love hits the nail on the head.

5. Dancing In The Moonlight – Toploader
One of those songs that just gets everyone up on their feet! Wedding-goers love this happy-go-lucky tune which just encapsulates a night full of love and laughs. It’s the trademark of a fun wedding reception!

6. I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You – Elvis
“Wise men say, only fools rush in, but I can’t help falling in love with you…”croons Elvis in this timeless love song about falling head over heels for someone straight away. This is a well known first dance song that’s sure to cause a few teary eyes!

7. The One That I Love – Chiara
The 1998 Eurovision entry for Malta, sung by Malta’s own angel-voiced Chiara is one of those beautiful songs that we love to keep on wedding playlists. Along with the absolutely essential Xemx by The Tramps, ‘The One That I Love’ also boasts that homegrown pride that we just adore in a wedding reception singalong.
