4 Things To Ask Your Wedding Hairstylist

By February 28, 2018 No Comments

Hair and makeup go hand in hand with finishing off any bridal look. That isn’t to say that the groom doesn’t need any help, either. And, the same goes for your bridal party or groomsmen.

What to ask:

You’ll want to ask any prospective wedding hairdressers about the following:

1. Portfolio:

You know your hair better than anyone else. If you know your ‘do is going to take a skilled hairstylist to tame, then taking a look through their available portfolio of work will help you judge whether or not you’ll feel comfortable with their ability and at ease with their style.

2. Is there anything you may need to provide?

Most hairdressers will supply their own equipment with all of the necessary essentials they might need.

If you’d prefer to have them use your own products, then communicate that with your stylist to see if they’re happy to comply.

3. Will there be a trial run?

The chances are, if you’ve chosen to work with a hairstylist that you aren’t familiar with, then having a trial run for your wedding look will be the first time you are able to properly assess their work in person.

Don’t be afraid to ask for a trial run, but be sure to confirm if it would be included in the cost of any packages purchased.

4. Contingency:

If, heaven forbid, your stylist has to cancel on short notice, ensure beforehand that you have discussed a contingency plan with your hairstylist. Will they refer you to another stylist (and might there be an added cost for this)?

Perhaps they have an assistant that will attend every meeting you have to be sure that if anything were to happen to your stylist that your hair will still look and feel like a million dollars on your wedding day.
