If you’re looking for something fun that will entice your guests with, a beer bar is a great option. But let’s break it down
1. What is a Beer Bar?
We’re glad you asked, but it’s exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a bar that serves beer… Which beers you choose to stock it up with is totally up to you but, either way, it will make your summer wedding that much more refreshing.

2. What Does a Beer Bar Look Like?
Well, they’re not all the same: They can be rustic and built out of wood, or simply a table manned by a couple of waiters. The good thing about beer bars is that they don’t have to be an expensive addition either, as you can serve the beer on tap with guests pouring the beer themselves; or even have beer bottles on ice with guests picking one up as they walk by. The latter can have an extra element of fun and novelty by having the beer in a freestanding bath or in something more ‘Maltese’ like a luzzu.

3. Why Should I Have a Beer Bar?
Look, no one can deny the fact that, at most Maltese weddings, people tend to go for bourbons, gins, vodkas and whiskies. But, in the stifling heat of the Maltese summer, nothing is more thirst-quenching than a cold beer. Cheers!

4. Right, Okay. So a Beer Bar… What Do I Do Exactly?
The beauty of a beer bar is that it is wholly customisable. You can go down the patriotic route by having the different varieties of Cisk on tap. Or you can be a citizen of the world with craft beers from different countries. Alternatively, you can also let your Potterhead out by serving Butterbeer… You can also remove the concept of the ‘bar’ itself and showcase your knowledge by pairing mini shots of beer with the finger foods on your menu.

5. How Do I Make All This Beer Feel More Wedding-y?
While this is not a necessary element of a beer bar, there are loads of things you can do to turn yours into the ultimate showcase for your wedding. Providing custom-made coasters featuring your names and the date of your union is one way of doing it. Decorating the bottles themselves by adding stickers or putting them in brown paper bags bearing information about the wedding is another.

6. How Can I Make a Beer Bar More Environmentally-Friendly?
Beer can be on tap or in kegs, reducing the use of glass bottles or metal cans. Having your guests pour their own beer will also mean that they are less likely to change the glass each and every time. Of course, the ideas mentioned above about coasters and paper bags should also be avoided if you’re opting for an environmentally-friendly affair, but every little helps!
