1. The Wedding Venues

Most of these venues are heritage buildings, and it’s not uncommon to receive an invite to a wedding in a Maltese Palazzo or character-rich farmhouse. Our Southern Mediterranean architecture means venues are often equipped with courtyards and even pools. Wedding venues in Malta and Gozo often look like something out of a fairytale!
2. The Weather
Malta and Gozo are fully-fledged holiday destinations, and our beautiful weather attracts visitors from all over the world. Obviously this is great news for couples planning to wed on the islands, as rainy days usually tail off somewhere around March all the way to September! Theres nothing like a Spring wedding on the lawn or dancing the night away on a balmy Summer’s eve under the stars.
3. The Photo Opportunities
Malta and Gozo can act as the perfect backdrop to your wedding photos, as we boast so many quaint old towns and villages with central a central pjazza and imposing limestone churches. Places like the walled Vittoriosa and Mdina are especially beautiful and well suited for wedding photos. Photos with old Maltese traditional doors make for an excellent image, as do winding alleyways and of course shots of the bride’s arrival in a beautiful vintage wedding car!
4. The Churches
If you choose to have a traditional church wedding, you’re in luck, as Malta and Gozo’s churches are some of the most beautiful and lavish in the whole world, and we’re inundated with them! Most churches are decorated in an gilded ornate fashion, and really bring home that Mediterranean feeling as the bride walks down the aisle. Even if you’re not getting wed in a church, the Maltese architecture makes for a great backdrop in photos as you make your way to the venue.
5. The Wedding Culture
If you’re planning a wedding in Malta and Gozo, your guests are no doubt in for a good time. If you’re flying over from abroad, rest assured that we do weddings properly, and treat them as the highlights of our calendar!
