7 Royal Wedding Inspired Trends We Expect To See In Malta

By May 24, 2018 No Comments

1. Feature Flower Arches

Meghan and Harry went for minimalist white flowers for their big day and St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle was decorated beautifully. The flowery arch at the entrance was especially stunning and made for the most gorgeous backdrop for the wedding photographs of that first Royal Kiss!

2. Gospel Choirs

Who can forget the awe inspiring choir singing the sixties soul smash hit Stand By Me? We have a feeling gospel choirs are going to be a thing here in Malta after that stunning performance! There are many beautiful songs that can be chosen for a similar feel from the likes of Etta James and Aretha Franklin to name just a couple, but the classy rendition of the Ben E King classic blew the world away with its grace.

3. Halterneck Dresses

The newly appointed Duchess of Sussex stepped out in a sassy halterneck gown on her way to the newleyweds’ wedding reception. Simple yet sexy, Meghan accessorized her look wearing white pointy stilettos and a beautiful oversized aquamarine ring which once belonged to the late Princess of Wales, Harry’s mother Lady Diana.

4. Sparkly Tiaras

Meghan’s dress was notably plain which set all the attention to her five meter long veil and stunning tiara holding it in place, which once belonged to Queen Elizabeth’s grandmother Queen Mary. We’re sure that the Duchess Of Sussex will have set a trend for antique-looking bandeau headband tiaras!

5. Vintage Sports Cars

Harry and Meghan ditched the Bentleys for the evening and took off into the balmy evening in an open top silvery powder blue E-Type Jaguar. The car is actually the Concept Zero model which was released last year and is a battery operated model of the 1968 classic car. The world watched on as the coolest Royal Couple ever adopted a swinging James Bond vibe for the evening, with a handsome bearded Harry dressed up to the nines in a black tux.

6. Minimal Makeup

As well as a minimalist wedding gown, the Duchess Of Sussex went for a very paired back makeup look, opting to ditch any heavy eye makeup or bold lip colour for a glowing natural look that shows off her gorgeous complexion. We’re likely to see lots of brides following her lead and adopting a no-makeup look, instead opting for lavish skin products and a healthy suntan.

7. Fabulous Hats

What would a royal wedding be without some celebrity spotting! This year’s main event was all about the statement hat. We saw sculptural millinery on the likes of the Duchess Of Cambridge, Human Rights Lawyer Amal Clooney and Fashion Designer Victoria Beckham. Vintage pillbox hats were aplenty and we’re bound to see design houses following their lead by including 1950s inspired eye skimming netting.
